In 2013, Team Jackson Hole teamed up with Teton County Search and Rescue (TSCAR) to help raise awareness and funding for the Ray Shriver Memorial Fund.

Ray died on February 15, 2012 in a helicopter crash while on a TCSAR mission. Ray became involved with TCSAR in the earlier years, and helped the organization become what it is today. He was instrumental in the volunteer group’s new training/gear facility, and spent countless hours training “newbie” SAR personnel over the years.

He gave a lot to this community unselfishly and with total commitment. If you did not know Ray, here’s a link to learn more http://www.jhunderground.com/2012/02/15/in-memoriam-ray-shriver/

Ray’s commitment to helping the community is something that could not be a more fitting project for Team JH to help champion. In the spirit of Ray’s love of teaching his fellow SAR members, the Ray Shriver Memorial Fund was established so that SAR personnel could attend advanced trainings and conferences. By helping to train current and future SAR volunteers, his commitment will be forever
