Aaron Nydam

Hometown: Denver, CO

Occupation: Science Teacher

Ride: BMC Team Machine, Niner Hardtail

Years biking: 4

Favorite food: soup and bread

What is your favorite race/ride?  Kings Ridge, Sonoma CA — single lane road climbing out of the red wood, Ewok forest to rolling through California oaks and grass pastures, then descending Myers grade down to the ocean for espresso in Jenner.

What are you proudest of having done on your bike?  Attacking cross-eyed on the final stage attempting move onto the podium. Ended 4th overall Cascade Classic, Cat 4 2009.

Proudest of in your life? Holding my new baby girl. Unreal.

What’s been your worst day on a bike? Grasshopper road race. Torrential rains, 80+ miles, 8000′ of climbing, early season (no training), March 2011. I actually stopped at a little corner market for a Coke and muffin after getting dropped by the chase group, cracked… bad day.

What do you do when not biking?  I bird. But that happens on the bike too.

How did you end up in Jackson?  Job teaching science at Teton Science Schools
